Egypt tops list of hottest billionaires’ travel destinations in 2019

While most of us don't have a billionaires budget this story is great for tourism in Egypt.
Whether you laze around on the decks of a felucca or choose the Agatha Christie Suite on a Steam Ship, travelling to Egypt and immersing yourself in the Ancient Sites is the trip of a lifetime.

CAIRO – 19 April 2019:
Egypt is the hottest destination that billionaires and elite-travellers are heading to in 2019, according to a report by Business Insider and boutique luxury travel agency Original Travel. The travel agency plans trips for high-net-worth individuals.

To find out where the hottest countries are for elites in 2019, and where elites are spending their money this year, the two worked together and compared quantitative data, number of bookings, and qualitative data (performance), feedback, expertise and client inquiries.

Although some countries remained on the list, like France, Egypt became the number-one favourite for those willing to spend tens of thousands on their vacation.

According to Tom Barber, co-founder of Original Travel, there are two primary attractions fueling this trend.
“The first is Steam Ship Sudan, a cruise that glides down the Nile between Luxor and Aswan, stopping at archaeological sites, temples, and tombs along the way,” wrote Business Insider.

The second is the newly-built Grand Egyptian Museum. "The museum will house over 100,000 ancient Egyptian artifacts, many of which have never previously been shown in public and includes King Tutankhamun's complete collection of over 50,000 artifacts," Barber told Business Insider, continuing, "Once complete, the museum will be the largest in the world devoted to a single civilization."

In second place came Japan, followed by Iceland in third place, Columbia in fourth place and Bhutan in fifth place.

Business Insider said in another report, “Like most travelers, billionaires visit Egypt to soak up its sights and history — but they do so while taking advantage of Egypt's plentiful luxury offerings, from fine dining restaurants in Cairo to beach resorts along the coast of the Red Sea.”
