Day 5: Karnak Temples

Saturday, 31st July 2027

After an early breakfast, we’ll head to the Karnak Temples Complex, located on the East Bank of the Nile. Covering an expansive area of 1.5 x 3 km, Karnak was dedicated to the god Amun and served as the center of worship for his wife Mut and their son Khons. This vast site includes over 25 temples and chapels, showcasing some of the finest examples of ancient Egyptian design and architecture.

A highlight of Karnak is the Hypostyle Hall, one of the world’s great architectural marvels, featuring 134 towering pillars, some reaching 70 feet in height and 45 feet in circumference. The grandeur of the hall is truly awe-inspiring.

For those interested in a personal memento, we’ll visit a local jewelry shop where you can have your very own cartouche custom-made—a traditional Egyptian nameplate with your name in hieroglyphs. It will be ready for you to take home before we leave Luxor.

After the visit, return to your hotel for some free time to relax.

Day 6: Valley of the Kings

Next, we’ll explore the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt's most impressive structures. Located at Deir el-Bahri, this stunning temple was built by Hatshepsut, one of the most powerful women in ancient Egypt. Hatshepsut, the first female ruler to reign as pharaoh, ruled as a male with full authority. The temple, set against dramatic cliffs, is a testament to her legacy. The site was originally a complex of mortuary temples and tombs before it became a Christian monastery in later centuries.
