Hidden along the east bank of the Nile in Middle Egypt, this sacred city—known in antiquity as Akhet-Aten or “Horizon of the Aten”—offers a powerful and atmospheric experience far removed from the traditional tourist trail.

Founded in 1346 BC, Amarna was created as the centre of a bold spiritual transformation. Akhenaten sought to shift Egypt’s ancient beliefs toward a singular devotion to the sun-disc Aten, leaving behind the powerful priesthoods and temples of gods like Amun. With his queen Nefertiti, and as father to the future Tutankhamun, he built a visionary city dedicated to light, openness, and divine connection.

Today, the ruins whisper stories of this short-lived but extraordinary era—abandoned soon after Akhenaten’s death, yet forever etched into Egypt’s spiritual and historical legacy.

Day 1: Arrival Day Cairo

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport you will be met by our Pink Lotus Tours representative who will assist you will purchase of entrance visa and arrival process.
You will then meet with your guide for your trip to Amarna.
We drive roughly for 4 hours to the south of Cairo, upon arrival to El-Minya we visit the great plain, where Akhenaten received his divine inspiration to build his city.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant then we continue to Tuna El Gabal to visit the Tomb of Petosiris, Ibis catacombs and Isadora Tomb that goes back to the 2nd century AD and belongs to Isadora the renown for her beauty in the city of Hermopolis.
Overnight El-Minya

Day 2: El Minya

After breakfast, we visit Beni Hassan where we can see Bakhet III Tomb, Khnumhotep Tomb, and Khety Tomb.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant then we continue to Tel El-Amarna to visit Ahmose Tomb and Huya Tomb.
Overnight El-Minya
Meals: Breakfast Lunch Dinner

Day 3: Return to Cairo

After breakfast, we drive back to Cairo.
