Nile River Cruise

A Nile River Cruise is probably better described as a floating hotel.
The description may conjure up images of sailing for days on end along the calm waters of the Nile reading an Agatha Christie novel but nowadays a Nile River Cruise is the most convenient way to travel between Aswan and Luxor. Whilst the distance is not that great in length it is a magical experience. To see the daily life on the banks as you quietly sail past the kids playing or out on their feluccas, the farmers are tending their crops like time has stood still. The water buffalo are saddled with ancient apparatus to plough the fields and the photography opportunities are endless.
The sundeck is full of day beds to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and an ice cold local beer.
A Nile River Cruise has most of the creature comforts of a land-based hotel, including generous room sizes and TV’s in every cabin, restaurants and a bar, swimming pool, bathtubs, gym, evening entertainment programs, small shops and small libraries.
We recommend the 4 or 5 day cruises in most of our packages, and we generally like to time them around the middle of the tour in our 14 Day programs.
Nile River Cruises offer nightly entertainment in the main lounge, often including a variety of live shows such as Nubian shows, belly dancers, and whirling dervishes, even themed nights when guests can ‘Dress like and Egyptian’

The standard, like anywhere can vary from boat to boat and your budget, at Pink Lotus Tours we prefer to use 5 Star or 5 Star Deluxe rated boats for our guests.

                                                                                                                    Philae Temple Agilka Island Aswan

The Nile Cruise from Luxor to Aswan takes 5 days and vice versa from Aswan to Luxor 4 days.
During the days on-board , you will get to visit the Temples along the edge of the Nile like the Temple of Komombo and once you arrive in Luxor the day trips include a visit to the East Bank which includes the Temple of Karnak and Luxor Temple.
Another day may features a visit to the West Bank to see the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, and Hatshepsut Temple depending on the length of your stay in Luxor.

Each day you will enjoy all your meals on-board and this is fully inclusive in your package.

We highly recommend you include a Nile River Cruise in your holiday to Egypt

Long Nile Cruises Tours

Cairo to Luxor and Aswan

If you love the idea of staying on-board for your whole holiday, there are options to cruise all the way from Cairo to Aswan or Aswan to Cairo.
The benefit of the longer cruise is you will get to see the magnificent temples such as Dendera and Abydos that many visitors to Egypt never get to see, along with many rarely visited sites.
You will also visit Tel el Amarna, Amarna is an extensive Egyptian archaeological site that represents the remains of the capital city newly established (1346 BC) and built by the Pharaoh Akhenaten of the late Eighteenth Dynasty, and abandoned shortly after his death (1332 BC).
The area is located on the east bank of the Nile River in the modern Egyptian province of Minya.  The city was abandoned after his death
Amarna was founded by the New Kingdom pharaoh Akhenaten, son of Amenhotep III and Queen Tiye, husband of Nefertiti, and probable father of Tutankhamen.
A Long Nile River Cruise will still visit all the other sites and temples along the edge of the Nile from the Pyramids in Cairo to the East and West Bank of Luxor and down to Philae Temple in Aswan
If you embrace the ‘unpack once’ travel style then this is for you. Egypt is a huge country with many kilometres to cover.
These cruises operate seasonally due to the changing depth of the river.
