Feedback from our In the Love of the Gods Tour with Jennifer Starlight October 2018

Did you feel safe in Egypt?
I sure did feel safe, there was never a moment when I didn’t. I recall passing a large community of what looked like army tents out in the dessert on the way to Abu Simbel but I never got a feeling of fear. 

How did you find Pink Lotus Tours and their service?
Pink Lotus Tours provided a remarkable service in the delivery of the whole tour. From beginning to end the entire trip had so much thought and attention given to all our needs and comfort.  From welcome flowers and friendly faces to greet us at the airport on arrival to Mohamed’s friendly services checking us in on our return trip home.

Haytham was remarkable the way he attended to everyone’s individual needs and the group’s needs. From bargaining with sellers on our behalf ensuring we get fair prices to assisting the group disembarking from boats and buses, to organising room keys at our accommodation, purchasing medicines when required and our entry tickets to sites, organising meals and ensuring everyone was catered for according to our special needs. 

With Haytham’s experience as a tour guide he demonstrated a wealth of information regarding history, culture, politics. He was easy to listen to and showed a humorous understanding of the English language and culture. He was entertaining and a very likable person. His commitment to his role was remarkable and he gave more than 100% in effort, always.

Leisa was fantastic also and ensured that all our needs were taken care of. She was always ready to support us with information, kind words in times of need, helping to provide us with whatever our needs might be both prior to our departure for Egypt and during our travels. Leisa loaned us interesting esoteric books to read and loaned us money at various times when we didn’t have enough on us while we were out shopping. Support was always available to meet our needs we only had to ask.

I loved the trust and family-centered feeling that was created and fostered by Haytham and Leisa which flowed among the group and enriched our experiences.  It was a genuine feeling of community, warmth and acceptance as we became familiar with each other and shared personal experiences as they arose.

The accommodation facilities where beautiful and the meals were abundant in quantity and plentiful. In fact there was so much to choose from I often ate more than i needed to. I loved the quality and diversity of the buffet meals available each day.

There was a lot of thought and attention to detail that went into the entire tour I felt very well looked after from beginning to end. I have have no issues to address or speak negatively about. The itinerary flowed smoothly and could be adjusted accordingly depending on the needs of the group. The rest time and time to ourselves in hotels was essential for the processing and integration of all that we were experiencing. The Pink Lotus team provided us with quality experiences in Egypt within a safe, harmonious community environment. I had confidence in their choices and was more than happy to go with their flow.

I loved the diversity of the tour experience with land travel, boat travel and internal plane travel. I am missing the delicious Egyptian meals. I would have like to have spent more time shopping for gifts at Khan el Kahlili or another market but I understand we were short on time that afternoon.  I could easily have spent another 2 hours exploring. I love markets and enjoyed being amongst the market atmosphere eating lunch.

Did you see enough historic sites?

The itinerary was packed with historic sites. There was perhaps one more that I would like to have seen which was Edfu as I seemed to have been developing a strong connection with Horus. I loved visiting the temples at dusk with the lights on and with the heat of the day taken away the temple could be experienced on another level.

Was there enough information?

There was plenty of information to absorb, Haytham provided us with lots of information regarding the historic sites prior to our arrival and on site. In fact there was so much to absorb that a lot of it has been forgotten. I think if I’d had my note book with me on the bus more often I would have written more down.


My overall experience has met and exceeded my expectations and I will recommend the Pink Lotus tour experience to others and already have.
